contour is the result of almost 40 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of climbing skins:

• 1971 the first adhesive skin made of Mohair plush is launched onto the market
• 1975 production begins of climbing skins in Innsbruck, Austria
• 1978 company founded by Eduard Koch
• 1997 production of the first climbing skins for carving skis and development of the transfer tape adhesive renewal method
• 2004 the 'contour' brand is registered
• 2005 development of patented Easy Tip Fix
• 2007 contour Easy Tip Fix is awarded best climbing skin attachment by Alpin Magazin
• 2010  – 12development of a new twin layered adhesive technology. First tests and broad-based trials carried out in association with with Tiroler Tageszeitung newspaper and Alpinmesse Innsbruck trade fair
• 2013 Market launch of new adhesive technology 'hybrid', patent protected
• 2013 development 'contour tail clip': new tail fix method, patent protected
• 2013 launch of contour Easytrim tool for offset trimming by specialist dealers
• 2013 launch of first split climbing skins with tip and tail fix for wide freeride skis and climbing skins for splitboards
